Budle Bay Lay-By Closed 12th May-16th May

Budle Bay Lay by will closed completely to vehicles from Saturday evening (12th) to Wednesday (16th) morning to allow for resurfacing.

"The lay-by alongside Budle Bay near Bamburgh will be closed this weekend from Saturday evening (12th May) through to the morning of Wednesday 16th May to allow for resurfacing.

The work to resurface the lay-by, which is popular with birdwatchers and visitors enjoying the view, is part of a wider programme of works to improve the visitors' experience. A new viewing platform will provide a safe refuge for visitors and information about the Bay and the wider area, the white railings will also be repainted.

This work is part of the Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership Scheme and has been possible by players of the National Lottery through a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Northumberland County Council will be carrying out the work

The platform will house information about BBay and the wider Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and details of the importance it has as an internationally important bird refuge.
