Natural England is busy implementing the England Coast Path – a new long-distance trail that, once completed, will enable people to walk around the whole English coast.
What’s happening in Northumberland?
Work has recently started to extend the path along the Northumberland coast from Amble to the Scottish Borders (including Holy Island). The work will be split into two stretches from Amble to Bamburgh and Bamburgh to the Scottish Border (including Holy Island). Natural England is working closely with officers from Northumberland County Council and Northumberland Coast AONB, who are providing expert local advice and helping to ensure local interests are taken fully into account as we develop the route.
